What Will You Do?

As a Material Damage Claims Supervisor, you deliver on our promise to resolve vehicle, truck and heavy equipment losses.  You are a source of knowledge and comfort during difficult times helping clients through the claims process and supporting them as they resume their lives. You are also a technical guide and coach to other claims professionals handling vehicle, equipment and heavy truck damage losses. Federated provides a defined training and installation program to assist you to serve clients.

 

This is an in-office position that will work out of our Indianapolis, IN office. A work from home option is not available. 

Responsibilities

  • Makes objective appraisal of claims involving vehicle, heavy truck and equipment losses. Determines if coverage is in effect and applicable. Recommends appropriate reserve.
  • Controls and directs appraisals written by others to conclude the claim. Reviews accuracy of appraisals and total loss evaluations. Acts as a liaison with independent appraisers regarding claim coverage information. Completes field appraisals, as needed.
  • Uses computerized estimating and other resources to determine an accurate damage amount. Consults with outside experts when necessary to obtain information pertinent to evaluating a claim.
  • Negotiates directly with repair shops, policyholders, claimants and/or their counsel to establish mutually satisfactory settlements.
  • Documents claim files with all actions taken to provide a complete, accurate and self-sustaining record.
  • Disposes of salvage according to Company policy and procedures.
  • Provides field support to handle catastrophic claims.
  • Provides expert technical guidance and coaching to claims professionals.  Assists in training others regarding material damage issues.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current pursuing, or have obtained a four-year degree.
  • Prefer four years of appraisal experience demonstrating the ability to proficiently and effectively manage assigned claims with minimum work direction.
  • Must have enhanced knowledge of heavy truck and industrial equipment.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to secure and maintain all state licensing requirements. 
  • ​Strong computer knowledge and excellent Microsoft Office skills including: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • An unquestioned ability to retain confidential business and personnel information
  • Strong analytical, computer and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Salary: $75,700-102,500 (Starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience.)
