What Will You Do?

We are seeking creative, team-oriented individuals with a passion for leveraging technology to solve business challenges. As a Systems Developer on our highly collaborative support team, you will enhance business processing efficiency through technical support, coding fixes and enhancements, process improvements, and innovative solutions for Federated’s core policy administration system, PolicyCenter.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, debug, and maintain existing software and systems.
  • Analyze requirements, create and/or modify code, and implement solutions to correct problems and meet business needs.
  • Monitor and analyze patterns in support issues and create mechanisms to prevent problems before they occur.
  • Identify and implement support automation and process improvements.
  • Strategize issue resolution plans with business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with and inform various business and IT stakeholders of progress and issues related to assigned work.
  • Utilize support experience to advance team education on business processes and surrounding systems and integrations interconnected to PolicyCenter.
  • Research and define best practices and standards to apply to PolicyCenter support.
  • Educate and empower business stakeholders and first-level Help Desk support to correct production problems faster.
  • Develop test cases, cycles, and scripts for specific tests. Conduct unit, system, regression, and acceptance testing.
  • Create, maintain, and interpret automated tests and results.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the insurance business to identify innovative tactical and strategic opportunities and implement solutions to improve systems, processes, and services.

Technical Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Four-year degree with a preferred major in a computer-related field or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Java or other object-oriented programming languages.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Experience with PolicyCenter is preferred, but not required.
  • Familiarity with Git and Azure DevOps is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong computer knowledge.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and establish productive working relationships.

Pay range is $76,800 - $105,000. Pay may vary depending on job-related factors and individual experience, skills, knowledge, etc. More information can be discussed with a member of the Recruiting team.
