What Will You Do?

Federated Insurance is seeking someone with strong investigative, analytical and communication skills to join our team as Analyst, supporting our Special Investigative Unit (SIU). This position will gather, manipulate, and analyze fraud intelligence information to identify incidents of insurance fraud, while ensuring reporting compliance with regulatory bodies. 

 

This position will work out of our Owatonna, MN office.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Developing summary of findings and next-step recommendations while applying initiative, analysis, sound judgment and knowledge of investigative processes.
  • Communicating findings to interested parties and interacting with SIU Investigator.
  • Performing detailed link analysis and claims chronologies to identify potentially fraudulent situations, unsatisfactory claims trending, any other patterns requiring investigation.
  • Identifying and researching emerging Federated Insurance and global insurance fraud trends.
  • Assisting in state fraud reporting requirements.
  • Reviewing vendor invoices to ensure accuracy of charges and proper loss expense management.
  • Applying expert understanding and mining of the Internet and social media sources. Optimizing search engine utilization for online content and interprets web traffic from all social media sources.
  • Maintaining and demonstrating advanced knowledge and understanding of medical terminology, coding and billing, legal briefs, surveillance and investigative reports.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Four year degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years' work experience demonstrating strong investigative, analytical and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated progress towards or completion of claims or anti-fraud designation(s).
  • Strong computer knowledge.
  • Expert knowledge in Microsoft Excel.
  • Expert knowledge of social media platforms.

Analyst - Special Investigations Unit pay range is $70,500 to $95,300.  Pay may vary depending on job-related factors, individual experience, skills, knowledge, etc.  More information can be discussed with a member of the Recruiting team.
